The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus received a $500 donation from the Knights of Columbus Divine Mercy Council #14664 in Hamden to help support a young woman entering the Congregation from Ireland this fall as a postulant.
The gift was made possible through the Knights’ Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP), which raises funds specifically to provide financial assistance to seminarians and postulants in a council’s local area. The money will go toward living and educational expenses.
“We are so grateful to Grand Knight Frank DiCristina and the Divine Mercy Council not only for their generous financial support, but also their moral and prayerful support of this young woman as she seeks to follow God’s call for her life,” said Sr. Barbara Thomas, ASCJ, Provincial Superior.
The Postulate is the first official stage of formation for women entering the Apostles. During this two-year period, women continue to discern and verify the authenticity of their call to live the charism of the Apostles. During this time, the women live at Mount Sacred Heart in Hamden and have the opportunity to participate in the ministry of the Congregation.
