Discernment Events

“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10). 

The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus offer a variety of events throughout the year exclusively for young women (ages 18–35) who are discerning a call to religious life and who are interested in experiencing prayer, community, and/or service with our Sisters.

Open Hearts Digital Discernment Group

Join the Apostles and other discerning women for an hour on Zoom the second Monday of each month to share on topics related to discernment and the call to holiness. Groups meet at 7:30 p.m. (ET) / 6:30 p.m. (CT). For more information, please email vocations@ascjus.org.

Live-In Experience

The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. And Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What do you seek?” They said to him, “Rabbi, where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” (John 1:38–39)

Come and see what life as an Apostle is like! These events allow discerning women with the opportunity to spend a few hours “shadowing” a local Apostle community. Participants follow the community’s schedule and participate in their ministries. 

Come and See Retreats

These retreats are designed for women looking to take the next step in their discernment journey. Participants spend the weekend with our Sisters and experience first-hand our prayer life, our community life and our charism. You will also meet other women discerning life as an Apostle.
